NOFA Organic Land Care Program

The seventh annual NOFA Course in Organic Land Care will be held in Naragansett, RI. Lecturers will include university and extention educators, researchers, and land care practitioners including Gardens Are... owner Donald Bishop. He will be presenting lectures on invasive plant identification and control, take part in panel discussions on business issues facing landscape professionals, and lead workshops on pest management. The goal is to stimulate discussion among environmentalist, industry personel, and local decision makers on the topic of invasive species so there can be a productive working relationship among these groups.

In order to promote water conservation and resource protection the Concord Public Works is sponsoring two nights of adult education at the Concord-Carlisle High School from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. The first of the two part program will introduce Natural Landscaping, the importance of "right plant, right place" philosophies, as well as companion planting and the benefits of composting.
